Tätä kirjoittaessa kaikki meistä ovat jo päässeet kotiin. Kilpailut saatiin käytyä vaikka aluksi näyttikin pahalta säiden takia, mutta viime vuoteen verrattuna lentoja saatiin jopa enemmän. Unlimited-luokka lensi 5 kierrosta, Advanced 4 lentoa. Perjantai-iltana kaikki oli lennetty ja kisat voitiin lauantaina hyvällä mielin päättää.
Lauantaina meitä odottii miniairshow, jossa nähtiin kerhon kalustoa ilmassa, moottoritaitolentoa osastolla sekä purjetaitolentoa Dietmar Pollin ja Jerzy Makulan esittämänä. Kaunista katseltavaa, ei siitä mihinkään pääse.
Näytöksen jälkeen lähdimme keskustaan isoon saliin, jossa juhlallisuudet ja virallisuudet vietettiin palkintojen jaon merkeissä. Mitaleja Suomelle ei tullut, mutta voimme silti tulla hyvillä mielin kotiin. Sitäpaitsi, kisoissa voi aina olla vain yksi voittaja. Tulokset henkilösuoritusten osalta on luettavissa täältä ja joukkueiden osalta täältä.
Mukavana yksityiskohtana mainittakoon, että kahden tuntemattoman yhteispisteissä Ville oli tuloslistalla sijalla 13. Mainiota!
Palkintojenjaon jälkeen oli juhlaillallinen tarjolla hieman kaupungin ulkopuolella, tai oikeastaan aivan siinä rajalla sijaitsevassa neloslinnoituksessa. Ruoka oli hyvää, ilta oli hauska, tarjolla oli tulishowta ja elävää musiikkia, mutta ikävä puoli siinäkin oli se, että ilta päättyi. Illan aikana jätettiin taaas monet jäähyväiset, ja toivottiin, että ensi vuonna tavataan jälleen.

While writing this final note, all of us are already at home. The contest is finnished even in the beginning the weather wasn't looking too promising. Instead of last years 3 rounds we managed to get even 5 flights in Unlimited and 4 flights in advanced. In the friday afternoon all flights were done and we could rig planes.
On saturday we got to see a mini airshow, where was local planes on display with some very nice aerobatic flying... The main stars were Dietmar Poll and Jerzy Makula with their gliders. It is just beautiful...
After the airshow we went to the city center to a big hall and the official closing ceremony was held. There were no medals to Finland but we can still return home with our heads up. Besides, there can be only one winner and there were A LOT of very good pilots. The results of individual overalls are here and the team results are here.
It was nice to notice, that in unknown overalls after 2 rounds Ville was 13th on the ranking! Very good!
After the closing ceremony, medals and several French anthems, the dinner was served just outside of the city, in an old fort IV. The food was good and the evening was fun, there was some fire show and live music, but the bad thing was, that even that night had to come to an end. During the night we said goodbyes again several times. Now we can also hope that we see all of you again next year.

kaikki kiva loppuu aikanaan // all good things must come to an end.
kisat on nyt viimein ohi virallisesti, tulokset ovat civa-results-sivulla ja kotiinpaluu voi alkaa.
Kirjoitan lisää, kunhan kotiudun, nyt loppuu aika kokonaan kesken.
Pakko sanoa kuitenkin, olin erittäin iloinen nähdessäni paljon tuttuja kasvoja viime vuodelta ja saadessani uusia ystäviä ;)

jälleen yksi päivä takana // one more day behind....
Tänään oli jälleen loistava lentopäivä, niinkuin eilenkin. Advanced-sarjassa on lennetty nyt 1. lento, joka oli tunnettu ohjelma, 2.lento eli tuntematon ohjelma ja kolmas eli vapaaohjelma. Hinauskoneina meillä on mm. kotonen kannuspyöräralli, sekä Yak-12 traktori...
Tunnettu ohjelma on kaikilla tiedossa noin vuoden alusta asti. Vapaaohjelman jokainen rakentaa itse sääntöjen mukaan ja kolmas, tai oikeastaan toinen ohjelma on tuntematon, joka rakennetaan jokaisen joukkueen ehdotusten perusteella. Tämä tarkoittaa sitä, että jokainen joukkue ehdottaa tietyn määrän lentokuvioita ja jury rakentaa näistä tuntemattomia ohjelmia lennettäväksi. Nämä ohjelmat julkaistaan vähintään 12 tuntia ennen seuraavaa suoritusta, jotta piloteilla on aikaa tutustua ohjelmiin ja harjoitella niitä mielessään. Lentämällä tehtävää harjoittelua ei sallita. Ranskalaiset, ja monet muutkin, ovat hioneet tämän mielikuvaharjoittelun tappiinsa, heillä on maahan asetettavat merkit, joista muodostuu boksi, jossa suoritus lennetään, ja tässä boksissa kuljetaan ohjelma läpi.
Harjoittelu, ja sen puute, luonnollisesti näkyy kisoissa. Koska jokainen pilotti Suomesta maksaa itse harjoittelunsa ja käyttää siihen omaa aikaansa, on harjoittelun määrä rajallinen. Lisäksi haastetta tuovat Suomen säät ja lyhyt lentokausi. Monet joukkueet saavat tukea ja heillä on sponsoreita sekä valmentaja ja lukuisia harjoitusleirejä ja luonnollisesti se näkyy tuloksissa. Me voimme olla tyytyväisiä tuloksiin siihen nähden, että harjoitteluun käytetty aika ja raha ovat kuitenkin jokaisella pilotilla rajalliset.
Nyt on taas lennetty ja syöty hyvin niinkuin jokainen päivä tähänkin asti. Iltaa istuttiin synttärisankari Sashan kanssa Italiasta, mukana oli myös Britit, Itävaltalaisia, ranskalaisia sekä paikallisia oppaita. Ilta oli jälleen kerran mukava ja vaikka kyseessä onkin maailmanmestaruuskisat, verissäpäin ei kuitenkaan taistella ja joukkueet ovat tekemisissä toistensa kanssa. Mikäs sen mukavampaa. Uskomatonta että pian nämä kisat ovat ohi.
Huomenna jatketaan vielä Unlimited-luokan toisen tuntemattoman neljän viimeisen pilotin lennot jonka jälkeen siirrytään advanced-luokan toiseen tuntemattomaan. Iltapäivälle on luvattu jo heikompaa säätä, joten saa nähdä miten pitkälle ehditään lennot lentää.

Today was yet again a good flying day, just like yesterday. We have spent hours on the airfield under a burning sun. The advanced have flown the first, known program, the 2. flight was unknown and the third was the free program. We have a cosy and familiar tail dragger rallye and a Yak-12 as tow planes here.
The known program is out in the beginning of the year. Freeprogram is built by every pilot by themselfs, or as we do have it, every pilot flies the same free program. The unknown program is build by the suggestions from every team. Every team has to sugges certain amount of figures and the jury builds up the program according to the suggestions. These unkown programs are published minimum of 12 hours before the flight, and pilots can't practise them in the air. French, and several others, build a box to the ground and go through the sequence there.
Training, and the lack of it, is shown in the flights (some pilots have over 100 flights behind before the contest). Since every pilot from Finland pays for their training and competition by themselfs, the training time is limited. As well is the money spent on it. Other challenge for us is the short season and bad weathers. many teams have sponsors and trainers and several camps. It shows in the results. We can be satisfied with the flights (exept few minor things) compared to the time and money spent on training.
Again we have been flying and eating well as every night so far (today, we had local pizza, which was very good!). Tonight went by celebrating the birthday of Sasha from Italy, and there were also pilots from UK, France, Austria and also few local guides :). Again it was a very pleasant evening and even this is a world championships the social life is quite nice and everyone seems to get on well. What could be more nicer? It is unbelievable that the 2 weeks is almost over.
Tomorrow we will still continue with the 4 last flights in unlimited 2nd unknown after which we will move to the advanced 2nd unknown. The weather forecast for tomorrow afternoon is not that good, so we'll see how far we get to fly tomorrow.

Tunnettu ohjelma takana // The known program
vihdoin koitti se aamu, jolloin briefing pidettiin jo yhdeksältä! Kiireellä siirryimme siis kentälle ja briefingin jälkeen alkoi tapahtua. Koneet gridiin kentälle ja lentämään. Lentojärjestys oli Topi 3., Ville 8. ja Jysky 24s. Kaikkiaan osallistujia on 38.
Topi lensi hyvin samoin kuin Ville, Jyskylle sattui pari pientä mokaa lennolla, jotka söivät pisteet. Muuten päivään saadaan olla tyytyväisiä, kaikki pääsivät lentämään ja turvallisuus säilyi koko päivän. Ja kaikilla tarkoitan myös joukkueen johtajaa, jolla oli kunnia lentää advanced-luokan warm up-lennolla Manfred Echterin kanssa.
Advanced-luokan jälkeen unlimited aloitti myös tuntemattoman sarjan lentämisen ja ehtikin niin pitkälle, että huomiselle jäi vain 5 pilottia. Siitä on hyvä jatkaa huomenna.
Päivä tosin venyi varsin pitkäksi, niinkuin täällä on tapana, kun odottelimme alustavia tuloksia. Yksi tuomareista oli unohtanut merkitä harmony- ja positioning-pisteet Villelle, joten pistelasku Villen osalta venyi, mutta viimein tulokset saapuivat ja päästiin lähtemään. Illalla vielä syötiin jälleen kerran tukeva illallinen, ei tällä reissulla ainakaan laihtumaan pääse. Mutta täytyy sanoa, että ennakkoluuloista poiketen, ruoka on ollut varsin hyvää ja maistuvaa, joskaan salaatti on aika tuntematon käsite täkäläisille.
Huomenna lupaan yrittää ehtiä käydä läpi valokuvia täältä, joita on kertynyt kameraan jo melkoinen kasa, ja lisätä niitä myös tänne...

Finally it was the day, when the briefing was held at 9 a.m.! With hurry we moved the planes to the grid and after that we started the flights. The flying order for us was Topi 3rd, Ville 8th and Jysky 24th. Alltogether there are 38 contestants in the advanced.
Topi flew very well, as well did Ville. There were few mistakes at Jysky's flight witch means no points there. Otherwise we can be satisfied for the day, everyone got their flight and everything went safely. And by everyone, I mean everyone, since even the team manager had the honour to fly the warm up flight with Manfred Echter.
After the advanced got all flights, it was again time for the unlimited which started the unknown sequence. Only 5 pilots are left for tomorrow, and then it is our time again with the unknown. That should be a good start for tomorrow.
The day was long, as usually here, when we were waiting for the results. One of the judges forgot marks for Positioning and harmony in Ville's marks, and it took quite a while to figure out why everyone else got their raw marks but him. Finally we got something and got to go for a dinner. The dinner was long and filling, you definately won't lose any weight here... I have to say, the food here is quite good, but these don't seem to know what a green salad is...
Tomorrow I promise to try to go through my photos, and upload them here too... There are plenty of them from the airfield...

Eilen saatiin vihdoin lennettyä unlimited-luokan ensimmäinen ohjelma läpi. Aamulla odotettiin pilvikorkeutta ja kun se kohosi, tuulta. Ohjelman aikana kerran pidettiin tauko, että saatiin koko kierros ja viimeinen lento suoritettiinkin jo auringon laskiessa.
Tänään ensimmäinen briefing on jo siirretty, mutta suhteellisen kirkkaalta ulkona näyttää, joten kunhan sää tästä paranee, pilvet kaikkoaa eikä tuule liikaa, päästään vihdoin lentämään ensimmäinen eli tunnettu ohjelma!

Todays first briefing is already postponed, but it looks like quite bright outside, so there is hope that we get to go flying today for the first (=known) sequence.
Tänään ensimmäinen briefing on jo siirretty, mutta suhteellisen kirkkaalta ulkona näyttää, joten kunhan sää tästä paranee, pilvet kaikkoaa eikä tuule liikaa, päästään vihdoin lentämään ensimmäinen eli tunnettu ohjelma!

Vihdoinkin // Finally
Sunnuntaina iltapäivällä todella kytättiin säätä, oikeastaan jo aamusta alkaen. Toivoa oli selvästi ilmassa, briefingin siirtymisestä tiedotettiin tekstiviestillä tunnin ja jopa puolen tunnin välein, aiemman kahden tunnin sijaan.
Vireystila pidettiin yllä potkimalla vähän potkupalloa ja seurustelemalla muiden pilottien kanssa. Vihdoin noin klo 18:00 saatiin ensimmäinen unlimited pilotti ilmaan warm-up pilotin jälkeen. Illalla ehdittiin lentää 7 kisalentoa ennen kuin boksiin ajelehti taas pari matalaa pilvenriekaletta ja näin ollen lennot keskeytettiin.
Nyt aamulla odotellaan taas kelin nousemista, viestiä organisaatiolta tulee puolen tunnin välein ja pilvikatto nousee koko ajan. Kyllä tänään vielä lentämään päästään. Unlimitedin tunnettu ohjelma lennetään vielä loppuun ja sen jälkeen on advancedin vuoro.

On sunday afternoon we were really looking for the weather to clear up, all the way since morning. There was hope in the air. The SMS system sent messages every 30 minutes or 1 hour instead of normal 2 hour interval.
We stayed alert by playing some football, just for fun and socializing with others. Finally at 18:00 the first tow started and after warm-up pilot the unlimited class started. There was 7 flights together on sunday evening before some clouds interrupted flights and the flying was stopped.
Now we are waiting for this day to clear up, we are getting SMS messages about the situation in every 30 minutes... so hopefully today the advanced also starts and we also get flights.
